Architecture Prize
1st Prize A
Single Family House in Ticino (Switzerland)
Architects: Davide Macullo, Lugano (Switzerland)
Contractor: Torsetta SA Lattonieri, Muralto (Switzerland)
Located in one of the sunniest places of southern Switzerland, the house totally
clad in TECU® Classic rises on the site where once rural constructions were. It is
characterized by small monolithic volumes standing on the natural slope of the land
and it is surrounded by nature. The whole construction has been realized according
to the principles of sustainability by using bio-ecological materials.
"An extraordinary and unique addition to the stone architecture of the Swiss
mountain landscape. The connection between outside and inside is impressively
solved by the use of perforated copper." (Excerpt from the Jury’s appraisal)
