TECU® ARCHITECTURE AWARD to be held for the third time

This year’s TECU® ARCHITECTURE AWARD 2005 will distinguish architecturally outstanding buildings by European architects that make use of TECU® building materials and were completed in Europe since the last award in the year 2002. Non-completed student works will also be taken into consideration in a separate prize category. The highly successful contest, which was first held by KME in 2000 and repeated in 2002, will take place for the third time in 2005.

The participating projects are to present an exemplary and innovative use of application options available with TECU® as a building material. For the purposes of adjudication, the overall architectural concept will be just as decisive as the specific use to which the material is put. The contest comprises the categories Constructed Buildings (with special prizes for single family or semi-detached house and for restauration projects) and a Project Award for Students.

Reflecting the European character of the contest, this year’s Jury comprises:
  • Goncalo Byrne (P),
  • Arne van Herk (NL),
  • Hugh Murray (IRL),
  • Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Julia B. Bolles-Wilson (D)
  • Prof. Dietmar Eberle (A) .

Application forms can only be downloaded from the TECU® website www.tecu.com under TECU® ARCHITECTURE AWARD 2005 .

Copper, more than any other building material, is brought to life by specific applications. It reflects the entire range of architectural issues: historical and futuristic, manual trade skills and technological progress – convention and innovation, technology and art, tradition and avant-garde. In addition to the well-known bright-rolled appearance of copper, today’s TECU® products offer pre-patinated, oxidised and tin-coated surfaces as well as new copper alloy materials.
