Primarily the width of the elements is determined by the wind suction forces which occur in relation to the building geometry and the height and position of the areas to be clad (see DIN 1055). The most commonly used standard widths for copper elements are 530 mm and 600 mm, resulting from 600 mm and 670 mm wide TECU® strips and sheets . Depending on the processing technique, the seam loss is approx. 70 - 80 mm.
When façades are being clad contractors generally work between the scaffold and the wall, which is why elements with a maximum length of 4 m are recommended, otherwise it is advisable to make a horizontal separation equal to the height of the scaffold.
Our TECU® Technical Consulting Center will be happy to answer any queries you may have.
