TECU® Cassettes are well-suited for cladding large wall surfaces attractively and efficiently. Cassettes from TECU® materials are generally large-format façade elements, folded on all sides which sit flush with the surface. They are produced discontinuously according to planning specifications and are usually custom made. As large format cassette facades are developed according to the architects’ design concept, naturally we cannot give fixed dimensions. When choosing the size of the elements, besides the design principle, factors such as structural demands (e.g. wind induced loads according to DIN 1055 Part 4), the construction and fixing principle and the modular dimensions from the façade geometry are also very decisive.
As a rule dimensions are chosen in component proportions of 1:1 to 1:4 (ratio of length to width in visual range). But the material that is chosen also limits the size of the elements and the format of the cassettes - for instance TECU® Patina has a max. size of 1,000 x 3,000 mm). When constructing cassette facades attention should be paid that cassettes without bracing are produced. It has been determined that these cassettes are generally rectangular. We recommend additional pressure and suction reinforcement for larger dimensions and unfavourable profile sizes.
