TECU® System Shingles are produced to be laid to the right or to the left. Every shingle has a return fold of 180° along each edge. The top and left edges have a fold coming forward extending over the front face and the bottom and right sides have a backward fold. Depending on the format of the shingles they are installed row by row from left to right starting at the eaves. Rectangular formats are laid horizontally or vertically; square formats can be laid horizontally or diagonally (honeycomb pattern). They are fixed with four copper or stainless steel clips, each of which is fixed to the substrate with 2 profiled nails 2.8 x 25 mm or 2 countersunk head screws. The shingles are connected with one another by simply hanging the backward fold into the front fold of the shingles that have already been installed
The standard techniques such as folding, seaming and bending can be used for connections along the boundaries of the shingle cladding. This allows a weather-proof construction of building edges and connections to other components such as windows and doors.
